    Psychiatrist Robin Cameron seems on the verge of success with an experimental program that uses a magnetic helmet to trigger, then modify, old angers that cause criminal behavior. She has been working with a promising candidate for behavior modification, an atypical serial killer named Justin Gray. His murders of high school girls involved mixed motivation—he didn't torture them or sexually molest them, and he has to drink to deal with death. Another very reluctant subject of her experimental treatment is LAPD Sergeant Alan Brand, who unwittingly admits to a cold‑blooded killing while under Robin’s care. When Gray escapes and Robin’s teenage daughter, Megan, is kidnapped, Robin does not know whom to accuse—or whether there is something even darker, nastier, and more complicated afoot. The story takes place over a period of only two days, and the suspense does not let up until the last page.

    Michael Prescott

    Michael Prescott was born and raised in New Jersey and attended Wesleyan University, majoring in film studies. After college, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a screenwriter. In 1986 he sold his first novel, and has gone on to pen six thrillers under the name Brian Harper and ten books as Michael Prescott. He has sold more than one million print copies and is finding a large new audience through e-books. Fan-favorite character Abby Sinclair, the “stalker’s stalker” first introduced in The Shadow Hunter, has since appeared in three more books.

      Pretty good fair. There were some pretty good surprise here. One had to really stretch things about Dr. Cameron, a pschiatrist who believe that she can "reprogram" convicted killer, Justin Gray. Gray has other plans and wants to use the freedom his treatments give him to plan his escape. There are lots of twists with dirty cops being a major one.

      Wow! Such a great suspense thriller! Michael Prescott rarely ever fails to fulfill everything you want in a good thriller!
