Her path to success led to the creation of a group of Super Food Heroes, calling up images of Bat Man and Wonder Woman, which could help the children become Super Kids. Vanessa has transferred the results of this experience to her debut book,The Body Garden Book features 10 Super Foods with super powers of magic minerals, vital vitamins and plant strength benefits. The Super Food Heroes have names like Wally Walnut, Quincy Quinoa and Kyle Kale; and what they have to say is of interest to both children and adults. The back of the book provides in-depth information about how that Super Food impacts the child’s growth and development. The book also contains recipes using the 10 Super Foods.Vanessa said, “This generation is the first one that will live a shorter life than their parents. According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) research, over 50% of children are not getting the fruit they need daily; and nearly 95% of children are not getting the vegetables that they need daily”.Vanessa Bowman has a degree from Georgia State University. She spent seven years foster-parenting children. While trying to teach them to eat healthy, she studied and researched nutrition, received mentoring from a local nutritionist and collected creative stories about healthy eating. What happened during these seven years inspired her to develop the 10 Super Food Heroes in The Body Garden Book. She has 20 more Heroes ready to be introduced once the first book has paved the way by starting a movement of garden groupies who support eating real food.view less
