An engineer by profession, he wor...view moreDavid Lyalin was born in 1955 in Leningrad. He lived on Marata Street, then near Sennaya Square, and later on the corner of Mayorova and Fontanka. An engineer by profession, he worked at a research institute, defended his dissertation, and moved to America. Since 1990, he has been living and working in Atlanta. His writings have been published in journals such as "Sem' Iskusstv" (Seven Arts), "Zametki po evreyskoy istorii" (Notes on Jewish History), "Evreyskaya starina" (Jewish Antiquity), "Masterskaya" (Workshop), and "Chayka" (Seagull). David Lyalin is the author of the books "Through the Prism of Chess: On Love and Other Matters" and "Zeyde Maises, or Stories of a Grandfather Who Once Himself Was a Grandson."
