Dr. Barroca, a professor of Spanish and Portuguese, taught at several colleges and universities in the United States and at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. For his doctoral thesis "Vida y ...view moreDr. Barroca, a professor of Spanish and Portuguese, taught at several colleges and universities in the United States and at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. For his doctoral thesis "Vida y Obra de D. Cristobal de Monroy y Silva", at the University of Sevilla, Spain, he made a thorough study of the life and literary work of Monroy. He published "Monroy, Uno de los Olvidados", in the Journal of Australian Universities Language and Literature Association, (AULLA), in 1973, a paper he presented at the University of New South Wales, Sydney. In 1976, his "Dos Comedias ineditas de Monroy" was published by Estudios de Hispanofila, University of North Carolina. Dr. Barroca retired in 1988. When not travelling with his wife or writing, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends in the San Francisco Bay Area as well as visiting his relatives in Portugal.view less
