I was born with hydrocephalus, commonly known as fluid on the brain. Shortly after being born the medical personnel rushed me to the ER and placed a VP shunt in my head to release the pressure from my brain. I kept having complications with my VP shunt growing up and in the year 2000 I went blind. I may have lost my vision, but I never lost the vision in my mind or my heart. I have always aspired to become a writer. However, with all of the tribulations circling my life it just did not seem feasible.
At the age of 17, I lived with my dad in Puerto Rico. I was a merchandiser for a toy company, a showroom organizer and presenter of new toys on my island. When I lost my vision I felt as though I had lost everything, but I did not. You can never lose your dreams and I have had many dreams through out the years. Creating my own invention with professional help, I keep reaching for the stars. Anything is possible if you put your mind to it. Remember the world is yours.
In the year 2008, I became a dad to a healthy baby boy name Mariano, whom I love beyond words.
I had never given up on my dreams. My oldest brother Javier always encouraged me to never give up on my dreams and that there is always a way to reach your dreams. My thanks to him for believing in me. To my fiancé Rosa, thank you so much for believing in me and supporting my ideas. Love you always.
My book is about a little girl named Free and her encounter with one of the Little People. This young girl grew up and gave birth to a Lucky Baby Boy named Frank. Everywhere he went luck seemed to follow. Frank found an island that wasn’t like any other island while snorkeling, which was one of his passions. On this island everything was strange and different. Flowers and plants did not look like any flowers or plants he had ever seen before. They looked like if they were crossed with other flowers. The very first flower he saw was very tall, like a light pole. Orange stump, leaves shaped like yellow triangles with raised green lines and white circle petals with raised red dots. Frank was stunned, but didn’t know what to do. Should he tell someone about it? There were animals crossed mixed with other animals. The whole island seemed to be alive. He loved visiting this magic island, it was like a dream. Little People? Magic Island? How are they related? Well…Let’s find out!
