My greatest joy has been watching students learn and participating in their learning.
But, my learning and my teaching found inspiration and instruction from what I consider to be the model both of teaching and of learning, Maria Montessori and it began when I first read her Montessori Method, Fall of 1967. I have endeavored to read anything and everything of her words published since then.
I had the privilege of being given Mary Pyle’s carbon copies of Montessori’s California lectures in 1967 by Edna Andriani and Elisa Harrison in the presence of and with the permission of Mario Montessori in Palo Alto, California. I edited and CLIO published them in 1997, the first time they were available in print and to the general public.
