She moved to Australia with her family in her late teens. She studied philosophy, education and literature in Australian Universities. Though from a highly academic family her own loves were poetry, art and writing. She became a teacher and her classrooms radiated writing, music, painting and drama.
Jancis met Carita Lewis in Clearwater, Florida. She loved Carita’s wonderful art. As she mused over the paintings in a quiet empty room, a story emerged from its hiding place within those paintings and the romantic fantasy Anna and the Otherwhere was born.
Carita Lewis was born in Helsinki, Finland. She started drawing as soon as she was able to hold a pencil in her hand. At 16 she received her first set of oil-colors as a gift -that was the beginning of her first oil paintings. She likes to create colorful, vivid images that bring beauty and happiness to the viewers of all ages and place a smile on everyone's face!
She currently lives in Delaware in the United States.
