For ma...view moreSéamas Ó Neachtain, that is, James Norton, was born in Floral Park, New York, in 1960. He attended Queens College, NY. Originally thinking of being a poet, he wound up with degrees in music. For many years, his energies were focused on bass guitar and song writing. Following college he taught music, and composed. Next came computer programming, and then the joys of Irish. Starting with self-instruction, he then studied at Scoil Ghaeilge Ghearóid Tóibín, and is now a teacher there. James married Irene in 1988. They have two children, Connor and Emily. They live on Long Island, New York.view less
