My father died, untimely, when he was very young. My mother worked very hard, and my upbringing largely fell on the shoulders of my older brother. He had a PhD in chemistry and was a role model for us, his younger siblings. Yet, our mother insisted we both go to medical school. We obliged. My middle brother became a dentist, and I became a neonatologist. In 1992, our family moved to the United States. In 1997, I became a licensed MD and in 2013, I added an MBA to my title.view less
