Her faith walk helped her cope with her mother's lifelong mental illness, her father's World War II related post traumatic stress disorder, six years as a single parent, and most recently, fourteen years as caregiver of aging parents. Carolyn earned a degree in special education with a minor in psychology, and has worked as a public school teacher, a home school mom, and a non-profit founder and director.
