Writing has always been in her blood but it wasn't until a few years ago that she ventured into weaving her tales.
Julie started writing a column for the Albert Lea Tribune, http://www.albertleatribune.com, 6 years ago. She is their Monday columnist. Julie named her column Something About Nothing because she believes that in every nothing in casual conversation, there is something underlying that we really want to say. Occasionally she is serious, but likes fluffy writing because we have too much gloom and doom in our world today.
Julie published her first book Fuchsia, Minnesota in October of 2012. It is the first in her Granny Series about the fictional town of Fuchsia.
Julie also likes writing for kids and young adults. Her series, Granny is in Trouble, starting with Whatchamacallit, Thingamajig, was published in January 2013. It is going to be a series about a Grandma teaching her grandkids about life and giving them a glimpse into the person Grandma is and used to be when she was young, hopefully bridging the gap between the old and the young.
Julie hopes to continue weaving her dreams in her books.view less
