Brimming with magic and romance, a young fairy queen must form an unlikely alliance or risk an unspeakable danger destroying all she holds dear in this fantasy adventure from New York Times bestselling author Allison Saft.

“Enchanting and achingly romantic. Readers will feel as if they’ve stepped right into Pixie Hollow.”—Sasha Peyton Smith, New York Times bestselling author of The Witch Haven

It’s been centuries since a warm-season fairy in Pixie Hollow has crossed into the Winter Woods, and while most fear the legends of monsters lurking in the frozen lands, Clarion, can’t help being intrigued by Winter’s stoic beauty. But under the watchful eyes of the current monarch and the court's seasonal ministers, Clarion has little time to dwell on daydreams while the days to her coronation dwindle away.

That is, until reports of a monster crossing from Winter into Spring make their way to the palace. Clarion sees defeating this threat as an opportunity to prove that she is worthy of her new role. But instead of finding a monster at the edge of Winter, she finds Milori, a young guardian of the Winter Woods. Together, they form an unlikely bond as they race to save their lands.

But as their alliance warms to something more, they will discover there is a reason a warm-season fairy and a winter fairy must not be together. And the cost could be just as deadly as the monsters that prowl the Winter Woods.

Discover the origin of the sweeping, star-crossed romance between the queen of Pixie Hollow and the lord of the Winter Woods.

Wings of Starlight takes place in Pixie Hollow, the world of Peter Pan, before Peter Pan ever happened. This book was so magical and whimsical and the writing was beautiful. It was interesting reading about fairies like Tinkerbell, instead of the oftentimes intimidating Fae. This world was so wonderfully crafted and even if you had never read or watched Peter Pan, you would still greatly enjoy it.

The book begins with Clarion preparing to become Queen of Pixie Hollow when shadow monsters from the Winter season begin terrorizing their kingdom. Clarion ends up meeting Milori, Warden of the Winter Kingdom, and begins working with him to try to stop the monsters, which is forbidden.

I received a copy of this book for free from the publisher (Disney Books) for promotional purposes.

Prior to reading, I did not know a whole lot about Pixie Hollow/Disney Fairies. In the Disney Fairies universe, I had read Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg (which I didn’t even like) and The Trouble With Tink. I read both of these around the time they were originally published in 2005. I also only watched the first movie, Tinker Bell. So going into this book, I didn’t have any set expectations, nor did I have any idea who Milori was. With that being said, I was so impressed with this book!

This was a star crossed lovers fantasy romance and it was so beautifully executed. I loved Clarion and Milori together. They had such a strong emotional bond and I loved how they helped each other grow. Milori has my heart. I can see why Clarion fell in love with him. I also thought the supporting characters, particularly Petra and Artemis, were well crafted.

The writing was also gorgeous. The author’s writing style captured the magic and whimsy of Pixie Hollow and the heart and soul of the romance so well. The writing flowed effortlessly and added to the ethereal quality of the story.

Given that this story is about star crossed lovers, I knew the ending was going to be bittersweet, but I still loved it.

Overall, I was so enchanted by this fairy fantasy! If you’re a Disney fairies fan, be sure to check this one out.
