I currently reside in Texas where I have established my home and lead a solitary life. I am a 28-year survivor of HIV which I contracted through a blood transfusion while serving in the military in 1983, following an oral surgery procedure. In my retirement, I have dedicated my time to fishing, engaging in home improvement projects, and pursuing my long-standing passion for writing songs and poems which I have honed over a period of 35 years.

As an individual imbued with a strong sense of spirit, I believe that all of us possess an innate potential for compassion, albeit to varying degrees. Through my poetry, I seek to convey this inherent quality to those who may not be fully aware of it, but who need gentle reminders that they too are capable of empathy. I trust that my literary works will bring peace of mind and awareness to individuals navigating the stresses of our fast-paced, ephemeral existence, and provide solace by imbuing hope for a better tomorrow, informed by my personal experiences. Ultimately, my objective is to leave behind a brief legacy that inspires others to connect with their humanity and the compassion that resides within them.

Profile and brief Bio of Perry D Sisk I am 53 now and have long awaited getting published my poems i have been writting for many years I hail from Southern Illinois having been raised by my grandparents,,,my Father is deceased and my Mother still lives and resides in southern illinois,, altho she took no part in my upbringing i still love her for who she is and has been,,, Having served a total of 12 yrs in our armed Forces this too helped instill a degree of discipline required to accomplish this publication.. i was married at age 21 and divorced after 9 yrs,,while serving in the USAF and attained a associate degree in education counseling via the community college of the Air Force,, i maintained a high degree of military bearing and earned the good conduct medal as well as longevity among other awards to go non mentioned Now residing in texas, where i have built my home and live alone , and am a 28 yr survivor of HIV, derived from a blood transfusion while active duty military via oral surgery done in 1983,,, i now devote my retirement to my preoccupations of fishing and puttering around my modest home,,along with writting songs and poems which i have done for 35 plus yrs, as a singular vocation I feel that in all of us as spirited beings ,we each do hold potential for compassion some more than others perhaps but still inherant to us all,,,I write poetry to convey those instincts to those that are less aware but require reminders that they too are beings of empathy I trust that my works will offer some a peace of mind and awareness so needed in this fast paced all too short existance we all share and to some degree will offer solice in reading words that instill hope for a better tomorrow, gleened from living,,this is my short legacy i wish to leave, Sincerly and always one poet named,,Perry D sisk Born to Emil d SIsk and Joetta Sewell sisk,, feb 24 1957 in belleville Ill,, Twin to Terra,(deceased) brother to Dale and Roger,,and older Sister Alice remaining in southern Illinois
