About this audiobook
The CIA looks for walking contradictions – Michele Rigby Assad is one of those people.
Recruiters seek people who can keep a secret, yet pull classified information out of others; who love their country, but are willing to leave it behind to head into dangerous places; who live double lives, but can be trusted with some of the nation's most highly sensitive tasks.
Michele Rigby Assad was one of those people.
As a CIA agent, Michele soon found that working undercover was an all-encompassing job. The threats were real. The mission was a perilous one. Trained as a counterterrorism expert, Michele spent over a decade in the agency – a woman leading some of the most highly skilled operatives on the planet, secretly serving in those treacherous areas of the Middle East. But deep inside, Michele wondered: Could she really do this job? Was she in the right place at the right time, or had she misunderstood what she thought was God’s calling on her life? Did she have what it would take to survive? The answer came when Michele faced a life-or-death choice – one that had secretly been the plan for her all along.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Thanks for this amazing story. Don’t mind the people who claim to be a person of faith and at the same time can’t stand the mention of God.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Constant and unnecessary references to God and your Christian faith. I consider myself a person of faith but honestly the constant references to following God’s plan make it seem you think you’re God’s chosen one. It comes off pretty arrogantly. Also it makes you seem like you’re on a religious mission rather than working for our government. I applaud you for your contributions but I literally had to stop listening to the book because I couldn’t stand the mentions of God. I felt like I was in church listening to a priest rather than a cool spy story. Let me know if you remove the propaganda and I’ll be happy to listen to the book.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5The last half of the book proved to be an endurance test that went on and on and on. Too much god-talk. Ideally this is an intimate relationship not one for constant public flogging. The undercover stories were riveting.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5One amazing story after another! This book held my attention from cover to cover. Being an expat who lived 13 years in North Africa-Middle East, this book was spot on in describing the journey one has living cross culturally. Her stories were a bit of soul care for me as I related and reflected on my own experiences. I am confident that their work in counter terrorism contributed to allowing me to work and travel safely in North Africa-Middle East. So grateful for their service to global peace.
