      I have read all of Herberts works, and I have been a fan since the 1970's. I thought I would listen to this and once it just got over, I realized that this has got to be one of the worst narrated James Herbert books out there. I am not sure if this was an abridged version of the book, but it was not good at all. The demon creature does not even appear till the very last 7 pages. Don't waste your time on this one.
