About this audiobook

"Leaves of Grass" is a seminal work of American literature, a poetry collection authored by Walt Whitman. First published in 1855 and repeatedly revised and expanded upon throughout Whitman's lifetime, it is a celebration of humanity, nature, love, and the vastness of the American experience. The poems are noted for their free verse and candidly open exploration of sensuality, self, and the interconnectedness of all things. Among its most famous sections is "Song of Myself," where Whitman delves deep into the concept of the individual and the collective, connecting the tangible with the transcendental.

Is there a thing more egregious,
    in thought or in deed,
than to visit upon a neighbor
    such calamities
    as to chase his livestock
    from their paddock,
his pigs from their pens, and with lard and salted stock
    make soup from his hens?

    There is indeed...

I avow it is a greater sin
    to read the verses of
    Walt Whitman
    as one calls for
    bids at a cattle auction

The printed word has evolved. We read with our eyes and with our ears.

I assume the materials in your e-print catalogue are set in legible font on pristine pages. In other words, readable content.

Execrably narrated content is no more 'readable' than ebook content rendered in black font on a black background with unalterable settings.

No one who enjoys Whitman wants to hear him read as badly as this.
