I find this book useful in helping me to recognize and practice different ways of showing love (and of recognizing when someone else is trying to show their love for me). It didn't blow my mind, perhaps because I already knew a bit about the concept from a session I attended at a homeschooling conference. It was decent, though. I was a bit disappointed there wasn't a simple quiz to take to identify my children's love languages. This is a bit funny to me, since I tend to ridicule books with quizzes in them. I've so far not been able to identify anyone's love language, but I have expanded my repertoire of ways in which I express my love. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

This is a book which is very popular in the Christian community. THe authors suggest that children have one of five primary ways they sense that they are loved: physical touch, worse of affirmations, quality time, gifts, and acts of service. It is suggested that it is important to understand what love languages are most valued by your child, and let that knowledge guide how you care for them. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

Aware that each one of my sons were 3 indiviual people, with their own unique makeup, I selected this book as a desire to understand their love language and how I was communicating my love to them. This book is an easy read and an excellent help to parents. As you learn the 5 love languages you can adapt to each child as necessary. Which is very important if you want to communicate your love in the language that they understand best. I learned that there are no cookie-cutter-molds for love; one 'love shoe' does NOT fit all sizes! A must read for any parent or caretaker of children. I gained a wealth of knowledge from this book. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

A very engaging book to read, a light and interesting read. Chapman tells us through stories and descriptions about the five love languages and their importance within relationships, more specifically marital relationships, but they adapt perfectly to any type of relationship. I feel it is important for people in marriages or partnerships to read this book because it allows us to understand if we are giving love to our partner in the right way. I believe it is a book that, just as I recommend reading it, I also find it equally important to share it. It has the ability to make you feel like the author, Gary Chapman, is giving you advice in person. It is wonderful and simple, with clear examples that draw you further into what Gary is trying to explain. In short, it has become one of my favorite books, along with its author.
