About this audiobook

Do you want to listen to A Study in Scarlet? If so then keep reading…
A Study in Scarlet is a detective mystery novel written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, introducing his new characters, "consulting detective" Sherlock Holmes and his friend and chronicler, Dr. John Watson, who later became two of the most famous characters in literature. Conan Doyle wrote the story in 1886, and it was published the following year. The book's title derives from a speech given by Holmes to Doctor Watson on the nature of his work, in which he describes the story's murder investigation as his "study in scarlet": "There's the scarlet thread of murder running through the colorless skein of life, and our duty is to unravel it, and isolate it, and expose every inch of it."

Horrible reader. Monotone, 3rd grade reading style. Snooze worthy. Did a great story a dis-service

I never realized how efficiently charming and engaging the original Holmes book was, nor was I at all prepared for the sudden detour in the second half, which was incredibly thrilling.

After reading this, I have a slightly different sense of Mr. Holmes than how he's been portrayed in movies and such.

A spectacular narration of at least 5 different accents makes this first adventure of Watson and Holmes together a delight. When one narrator can make two characters dialogue clear and believable, I am quite impressed.

This story bounced between several different timelines, I found it interesting how they both impacted the outcome of Sherlock's mystery. It was wonderful meeting our two famous characters and taking a step back to see how they first were able to offset each others brilliance.

Tells the story of how Holmes and Watson met, and of course, provides a riveting mystery as well. The narrator handles male and female, British and American roles well.
