I hope since our chat he thinks I'm normal . . . I told him that I was several times.
Deep in Essex and her own thoughts, Sophie had a feeling something was going to happen and then it did. Chris has entered the pub and re-entered her life. Just as she's finally stopped thinking about him. Now Sophie has a chance at creating a happier ending and paying off her emotional debts (if not her financial ones). All she has to do is act exactly like a normal person and not say any of her inner monologue out loud. If she can suppress her light paranoia and pathological lying, maybe she'll even end up getting the guy she wants?
What readers are saying:
'Acutely and profoundly observed.'
'Brilliantly relatable and painfully honest.'
'A book that will make you laugh, think, and feel a little bit better about being yourself.'
'A funny, insightful and unusual perspective on growing into yourself.'

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I couldn’t finish it. It was like being forced to listen to a not so intelligent coworker droning on about utter nonsense.
I kept waiting for the funny bits but decide life is too short.1 person found this helpful
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I absolutely loved the book. I admit, it did seem weird in the beginning, but wasn't that the point..? It felt very genuine because, yes, let's be honest, if you'd get into someone's head and register all the absurd ways the human thought is working, it would be like in this book.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The book is mostly the internal dialogue of someone with anxiety. It's occasionally funny in a Jenny Lawson kind of way, but not as often as her.
I might have given it four stars as a regular book, but the disjointed style doesn't work well in audio format. Minor distractions while listening can leave you completely lost.1 person found this helpful
