About this audiobook

Grace Everly has no desire to set sail for the Caribbean, unlike her adventurous twin sister, Hope. Thanks to her sister’s irresponsible behavior and subsequent banning from the journey, Grace’s father decides to send her in Hope’s place. Desperate to remain where things are familiar, Grace proposes an unthinkable plan: that she and Hope switch places. They only have to keep up the act long enough for Hope to board a ship in London. When the man who has stolen Grace’s heart learns of their secret, things get more complicated.

Jacob Barnes, soon to be ordained a vicar, has known Grace and Hope his whole life. Though close to both sisters, he’s dreamed of courting Hope for months. When he realizes his friends have switched places, putting the woman he admires out of his reach, he agrees to help with the subterfuge despite his bruised heart. As he watches Grace stumble in her acting abilities, attempting to change who she is, he realizes how much she means to him. But how does he tell her, without risking their friendship?

The deception puts their relationship to the test. As Grace hides her heart and her identity, Jacob examines his feelings, and no one in their community will be happy when the truth is discovered.

This is the second book in the Inglewood series and can be read as a stand alone, Sweet Regency Romance.

This series needs to be read in order. I am really enjoying these books and characters. We are back with the Inglewood gang and the twins are having some issues! I just loved this story and I'm loving them even more the second time through!

This was another excellent audiobook as well. The narrator really helps to bring the story to life. I've listened to her at regular speed and up to 1.4 and she's great at all of them!

Sally Britton has become one of my favorite clean Regency romance authors.

The story was predictable but very sweet. Much like the first book, there were a few moments of chuckling and even a moment of just feeling so badly for Miss Everly.

The audio was narrated by Marian Hussey; she is fantastic, always a favorite narrator. I said it on the first of this series, and it is worth repeating, Sally Britton and Marian Hussey pair perfectly together!

Another fantastic book in this series! I love this series, and this is one of my favourite books in the series. The author pays so much attention to detail and it’s a beautifully written friends to love story, with the twist of false identity. The narration is lovely. I find this narrator soothing to listen to and she does a wonderful job sharing the story at a perfect pace and with just the right emotion, tone, inflection, and emphasis. I love the romance between Grace and Jacob. They were lifelong friends and Grace recognized her feelings for Jacob, but he was blinded by an infatuation with her twin sister Hope. When circumstances led to Grace and Hope switching places and deceiving others so Grace, a homebody, could stay home and Hope could satisfy her wanderlust by travelling, both Grace and Jacob had to face the truth of what they really wanted and what they were willing to risk. Jacob also had to come to terms with how he had defined Grace, but really misunderstood key facets of her character, overlooking her for Hope, and making assumptions based on his misunderstanding. This is a fantastic book. The identity swap adds tension and I extra interest to an already beautiful love story. I definitely recommend this book, and particularly the audiobook. This is a sweet and clean story with no harsh language.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Nice easy listening, what those women and men of this era had to put up with, however it seems there was plenty of innocent romance and respect, life was simple yet complicated. Nice book
