A Polish student is drawn from his studies, as a result of a brilliance in mathematics, into the covert world of the Cypher Bureau. He is trained in code-breaking and working alone cracks the invincible Enigma code in 1932.. When Poland is invaded in 1939 he has to flee Poland together with his colleagues in The Cypher Bureau.

The team'adventures take them from Poland to Romania, to France and to Algiers as the team attempt to continue their essential code-breaking work and keep ahead of the S.S. soldier trying to track them down. Bravely the team decide to return to Occupied France to continue their work with disastrous consequences for some members of the team.

Eilidh Mcginness was born and brought up in the Highlands of Scotland. She studied law at Aberdeen University and practiced as a lawyer for twelve years, latterly specializing in criminal defense. She moved to South West France with her then husband and four children (now flown the nest) in 2006. She established an independent estate agency firm which she operated for 12 years before concentrating on her dream of becoming an author. Eilidh has always been passionate about history and the stories of ordinary people who do extraordinary things.
