About this audiobook

No light. No air. No escape.

Hundreds of feet beneath the ocean's surface, a graveyard waits...

Years ago, the SS Arcadia vanished without a trace during a routine voyage. Though a strange, garbled emergency message was broadcast, neither the ship nor any of its crew could be found. Sixty years later, its wreck has finally been discovered more than three hundred miles from its intended course...a silent graveyard deep beneath the ocean's surface, eagerly waiting for the first sign of life.

Cove and her dive team have been granted permission to explore the Arcadia's rusting hull. Their purpose is straightforward: examine the wreck, film everything, and, if possible, uncover how and why the supposedly unsinkable ship vanished.

But the Arcadia has not yet had its fill of death, and something dark and hungry watches from below. With limited oxygen and the ship slowly closing in around them, Cove and her team will have to fight their way free of the unspeakable horror now desperate to claim them.

I thought the narrator was terrific...she did a great job with the characters and her inflections were spot on. The plot was different, and not one done before. The research was extensive, and added to the storyline. It wasn't scary but the suspense and premise keeps you going. Worth the shot.

Could not finish. The narrators voice is grating at 2 mins in. No way I could make it the full 12hrs.

Narrator’s voice is unclear. Has so much nasal I could barely understand. She skips too many sounds when reading and voice is too low and raspy.

Although the plot sounds good, I could not bear the reading. I’ll read it myself.

Atmospheric, tense and creepy. The past timeline wasn't engaging enough and it lost me at times. Satisfying ending, as usual with Darcy's books.

Decent read if you are looking for something that will keep your mind off the complexities of work /life. Nice idea narrating the story from the past and present points in paralel. It’s nothing to write home about, but I never considered not finishing it, I wanted to know how it ends :) Abby Craden does a good job narrating this book.

The book sounded interesting but the narrators voice is awful, couldn’t get past 4min 14 seconds in.

Tense, I actually looked forward to be able to listen further and will read/listen to more of this author. It took some time to get used to the narrator’s voice (more of a me-thing), but I actually think she was very good and my attention span is pathetic

A wonderful slow-burn horror thriller. I really enjoyed the pacing and narrative. I won't be booking a cruise anytime soon! LoL

First off, there’s nothing wrong with the narration. The narrator, who had narrated other audio books I’ve listened to, has a soft voice with an unusual but not unpleasant inflection at the end of sentences. She doesn’t detract from the story, which progresses primarily through narrative instead of dialogue. The plot was interesting and should appeal to horror story fans.

The Story was decent. I liked the thrill of it. Kept my interest. 7.5 /10.
Narrator: I give her a 6.5/10. The way she voiced some of the characters, I couldn’t get into it.

What an eerie story unfolding at 300 feet deep under the ocean inside the claustrophobic wreckage of a ship! It is very well written and the tension builds up steadily. It was difficult to follow at first due to the narrator’s monotonous reading, but either I grew used to it, or the narration improved halfway through the book.

I enjoyed this book immensely. I actually stayed up late to finish it which I almost never do with audiobooks. I just had to know what was going to happen next. The narrator does a fantastic job. I can't recommend it highly enough
