About this audiobook
The bewitchingly beautiful Hannah Bartlett never meant to fall in love, and certainly not with a vicar. But when she meets Vicar Rafe Waterford, she discovers a warmth and tenderness she’s searched for her entire life. Not until it’s too late does she realize that Rafe holds more than the key to her heart; he possesses the power to destroy her—especially when he discovers who she really is.
For years, Vicar Rafe Waterford’s family has made every attempt to find him a wife and see him settled down. Yet, no lady has enchanted him enough to draw him into matrimony…until he crosses paths with the breathtakingly beautiful Miss Hannah Bartlett. Struck by her wit, her charm, and her heart overflowing with love and compassion, he relentlessly pursues her. But when he discovers the secret she’s kept from him, that she is Madam Genevieve, owner of London’s most famous bordello, their love is tested beyond all measure.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Hannah Bartlett was raised by an abusive father who ruled her to fear men of religion. She was raped at the age of 15 by one of her father's peers. The peer blamed the rape on Hannah as did her father. The rape was brutal to begin with and then her father beat her to the point of passing out. When she came to, she was on the ground by the road. Her father's way of letting her know that he had disowned her. Hannah had only the tattered clothes on her back. Fifteen years later Hannah is Madam Genevieve. She owned a brothel and had earned her living as a prostitute. She is visiting her childhood friends at a house party they were throwing. It was warm and Hannah was wading in the nearby stream when she heard a man's voice. Rafe Waterford sat down next to her and began a pleasant conversation. He was so handsome and Hannah's heart skipped a beat. For the next week they enjoyed themselves and the party. But Rafe was a Vicar and "Madam Genevieve" would not be a good match for him.... or would he? The characters are fun and likable. It was so easy to get into the story line and empathize with the characters. It was a fun read.
