About this audiobook
Steven "Steel" Trapp has been placed in an East Coast boarding school for gifted kids by his FBI agent father. He soon discovers that there's a clubby element of the faculty and upper classmen that is very secretive and protective. To his surprise, his friend Kaileigh arrives at the school, and it isn't long before the two realize that this is not your normal boarding school. It seems a select few students are recruited, while still minors, to serve as special "translators" for the US Government. People—including diplomats and dignitaries—will say things around kids that they wouldn't otherwise dare speak outside of embassies. The willing student "agent" takes a semester abroad and ends up spying for his country.
But there are dark forces at play at the school. Foreign agents may have penetrated the school's secrecy and have sleepers in place: kids spying on future kid spies. There is conspiracy and competition among the elite faculty that threaten security. As Steel and Kaileigh are recruited for their first test run—trying to break a ring of pickpockets in a Boston hotel—things go impossibly wrong. Betrayal and conspiracy cloud what should have been a straightforward assignment. And all too soon, their very lives are in danger.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I read the first book in the series and it was just okay. I'm glad I stuck with the series, this one is so much better than the first one.Steel is at a special prep school. You won't find it on any map, or on the web. For you to go there, you have to have special gifts, and be invited. This school has it all, including a secret society. A secret society that very very few in a special school that nobody knows about. Steel discover it by accident, and once they know that Steel know about them, they'll do anything they feel is needed to make sure Steel keeps quiet, anything. Steel isn't alone. Back again is Kaileigh to help Steel out of trouble and help him find out all about the secret society. The society also sets their eyes on Kaileigh. That's all I really want to say on the plot. There's a lot more that goes on, but I don't want to give anything away. This is such a great read! It has a lot of action, suspense, and twists and turns that will keep the reader glued to the book. All of the characters seems life like and can't help but to root for them. For me, there was just one downside, and that's the game of Ga-ga. I felt it was kind of stupid and didn't add to the plot of the book.If you read this one, I can promise you won't be sorry. I know I wasn't, and I can't wait to read the next Steel Trapp adventure!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Steven, known as Steel Trapp is attending an East Coast boarding school for the first time, and is thrilled and surprised to discover that his brilliant friend, Kayleigh, has also enrolled. The two discover that all is not as it seems at Wynncliffe. There seems to be some kind of secret training going on, and groups of boys appear and disappear almost magically at certain spots in the campus. Kayleigh and Steel discover just enough to get themselves involved in much more than they anticipated, but it makes for a very adventurous read. If you read book one, Steel Trapp - The Challenge, and enjoyed it, then you'll like this one as well.
