Froggy Rides a Bike by Jonathan Landon is a fun fantasy book for children to read. This picture book has great illustrations that will catch young readers attention. Children will love this book because it is about a little froggy learning how to ride a bike, and most children love riding bicycles so they will enjoy listening about a froggy riding a bike. The words in this book are simple and will be easy for the children to understand. I recommend this picture book for teachers to read to their children during circle time.

In an odd way, this reminded me of my experience when I was learning to ride a bike. The most apparent similarity was the way Froggy's father insisted that he wouldn't let go, only to let go each and every time. This wasn't a great trust building experience for me, and I imagine it wasn't that reassuring for Froggy either.

Froggy looks out the window and sees a new shiny bike. He hops on and takes a ride. He was going really fast and was going about a million miles an hour. He was going so fast he felt like he was flying. Yet again Froggy was dreaming. His father was in his room and was trying to wake him up. He was getting a bike today! He had to get dressed and then he was off with his dad. He could not decide what bike he wanted. He knew he has to get a helmet though. Froggy knew that each and every time that he fell he was going to have to get up and keep trying. Once he got the hang of it, he loved it and rode his bike all day, every day!
