About this audiobook
Menley Nichols and her husband, Adam, a criminal attorney, rent a house on Cape Cod, in the hope of restoring their faltering marriage. The birth of their daughter, Hannah, has revitalized their relationship, but Menley has never stopped blaming herself for the accidental death of her two-year-old son. The serenity of the Cape promises a new start.
But when they visit Remember House, an eighteenth-century landmark with a sinister past, strange incidents force Menley to relive the accident that killed her son, and she begins to fear for Hannah's safety. Then Adam takes on a client suspected of murder when his wealthy young bride of only three months drowns in a storm—and the family is drawn into a rising tide of terror. A confrontation on a dark, rain-swept beach leads to a harrowing climax that only Mary Higgins Clark could have created.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This was an okay story. Not my favorite Mary Higgins Clark. I feel like this would definitely be more gripping read for a parent, or a married individual in the least. The was an excellent testament to shattered faith and trust. Not bad, Mrs. Clark.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A very good read. I have always liked Mary Higgins Clark's books, but I was very impressed with this one. A real page-turner...You can not figure out if she is going crazy or what ...
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A well written mystery, with characters you can really feel for. Definitely one of Mary Higgins Clark’s bests.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5A spooky murder mystery set in Cape Cod. A lawyer takes a vacation at the Cape but then ends up taking on a high profile murder case. His wife is still trying to get over the loss of their two year old son. She keeps reliving the night she lost her son and is now worried about her baby Hannah. She tries to tell herself she is ok and immerses herself in writing a children's book set in the early days of the Cape. The book ends with climatic twist on a stormy night.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I had never read Mary Higgins Clark before but reading her obituary I read about Remember Me set mostly in Chatham, MA, which prompted me to pick up the book. I'd consider the book a cozy mystery--very little blood and guts. But I liked most of the characters and the regular and maritime history of Cape Cod that Clark threw in was interesting. That's the part that really kept reading. The grand old Captains houses with secret rooms. The thought that spirits from Colonial times might inhabit the houses, hoping maybe to clear their names or keeping guard over the houses and their occupants, should they be worthy. While I'm not likely to pick up another Mary HIggins Clark book soon, I really did enjoy this one.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5It was fun and took a day to get through. I appreciate that it was possible to solve the mystery much early than the story gave it away.
The epilogue/note at the end was disappointing and didn’t need to be woven as a theme in the story.
Simple fun read, nothing learned or gained but a good away to relax. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I borrowed this book from a friend, and it was my first Mary Higgins Clark book. I must thank my friend for lending it to me. I really enjoyed it. Ms. Higgins Clark's writing style is spare and direct. Her characters are very well-drawn, and she ratchets up the suspense all the way through. I loved the setting of this book - Cape Cod in the late summer. Ms. Higgins Clark's descriptions of the area are very realistic, and it brings the scene to life. In this book we have a young family who have recently experienced a horrendous loss. Menley has been carrying her guilt for the death of her small son. With a new baby in her arms, she has many occasions to question her sanity, but above all she knows that she will do anything it takes to protect her infant, Hannah. We have ancient history from the early 18 century joined with the present day and star-crossed lovers and nefarious villains in both time frames. Add what appears to be a haunted house with its own secrets to keep, and you have a real page-turner of a book. Menley being a popular children's books writer and illustrator added to the scrumptiousness of this book. I may have to check out some of Ms. Higgins Clark's extensive backlist. Sometimes you just need to escape.
