About this audiobook
After 9/11, the United States made one of the most secretive and dangerous deals in its history—the evidence against the powerful Saudis who coordinated the attack would be buried and in return, King Faisal would promise to keep the oil flowing and deal with the conspirators in his midst.
But when the king’s own nephew is discovered funding ISIS, the furious President gives Rapp his next mission: he must find out more about the high-level Saudis involved in the scheme and kill them. The catch? Rapp will get no support from the United States.
Forced to make a decision that will change his life forever, Rapp quits the CIA and assembles a group of independent contractors to help him complete the mission. They’ve barely begun unraveling the connections between the Saudi government and ISIS when the brilliant new head of the intelligence directorate discovers their efforts. With Rapp getting too close, he threatens to go public with the details of the post-9/11 agreement between the two countries. Facing an international incident that could end his political career, the President orders America’s intelligence agencies to join the Saudis’ effort to hunt the former CIA man down.
Rapp, supported only by a team of mercenaries with dubious allegiances, finds himself at the center of the most elaborate manhunt in history. With white-knuckled twists and turns leading to “an explosive climax” (Publishers Weekly), Enemy of the State is an unputdownable thrill ride that will keep you guessing until the final page.

Another excellent edition to the Mitch Rapp series. Kyle Mills has carried over Vince Flynn's characters flawlessly and has added his own touches which have been wonderful. The details of the plot were fantastic and kept me guessing right up to the very last scene! - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

After a batch listen of the full series I really enjoyed this ( for now leastways final) book of the series.
The abridged books in the series on Scribd read more like short stories so I will try and find the full versions ago revisit.
Without giving it away this story brings back many of the key players from previous volumes starting with Claudia and Donatella and picks up Order to Kill
Basically on this showing Kyle Mills in my opinion has not only picked up the mantle of the franchise but he moved it on
Recommended but you need the series as a whole for context. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5

The story line continues to be great and at a high standard. Noted an increase in bad language which was disappointing. It does not improve the impact of an otherwise well written book. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

George Guidall is Head and Shoulders better than the narrator for this one. While not half bad he just doesn't create the same atmosphere or air to the book. Wish they would redo it with George Guidall which would make it so much better.1 person found this helpful

Enemy of the State was a mixed bag for me. On the one hand, the writing was competent and solid, the plot was strong, and there was nothing particularly wrong about it, except that this really didn’t feel like a Mitch Rapp novel. In fact, this felt like a neutered Mitch Rapp. The character was written more like Jack Ryan Jr. That isn’t inherently bad, it’s just not the same. Vince Flynn’s version of the character was unhinged, always on the edge of doing something utterly crazy, completely unpredictable. The character in this novel just wasn’t that. The author went out of his way to have other characters tell the reader how dangerous, and fearsome, and crazy Rapp was, but that character never came across the page.
I don’t want to go overly negative on the novel since it was an entertaining read, but it misses the mark for what I was looking for. If this is how Kyle Mills is going to write the character, then I would just as soon not read any more of these novels, and keep my memories of this very memorable character as it was prior to the handoff to Mills.

Mitch Rapp returns in this the sixteenth adventure, with Vince Flynn's passing the reigns have been taken over by Kyle Mills who does a respectable job of keeping a similar tone and pace to the books as Flynn did.
This is the second installment that Mills has written and it's pleasing to see the first wasn't a mere fluke, the quality and consistency is on par with the first.
In this installment we see a Saudi Arabian intelligence head team up with ISIS in a bid to secure power as Saudi Arabia's king is frail and expected to not be long for the world. The US President requests Rapp who's been putting his personal life back together to step out and covertly investigate news of a Saudi Prince giving funds to ISIS - and so the story unfolds. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

After the September 11th attacks, the United States hid the evidence of Saudi involvement in return for the continued flow of oil and the king’s promise to deal with the conspirators. When the king’s nephew is discovered funding ISIS, President Josh Alexander believes the king never meant to keep their agreement. He decides to send Mitch Rapp to deliver a message to the Saudi king.
But America cannot go against an ally, so Mitch quits the CIA and assembles a small team for the mission. But when the mission goes sideways, will Mitch have enough time to turn the tables on the Saudis and clear his name?
A clever plot filled with unexpected twists and surprises and well-developed characters continue the saga of Mitch Rapp. There is much to appreciate in this edge-of-your-seat thriller. This latest Mitch Rapp tale grabs readers from the very first page and takes them on an incredible roller coaster ride; the nonstop suspense and furious pace of the action will keep those pages turning.
Highly recommended.
