If you read one Lux novel you've read them all it seems. It's disappointing because the premise of the story grabbed my attention, and then by the end of the first act I knew the ending.

If everyone around me had been lying to me for years I wouldn't have forgiven them in less than a week, but I guess for the sake of the book Evie had to. I also don't even know what to call her by the end of the book. I most likely won't be ready the rest.

I really love luc but not so much Evie. She made me very mad at times like come on women get it together. I was kinda disappointed that I could guess half the plot. I mean I guess I could in the lux series as well. But overall I really like these books. They make me so mad but are so addicting. I would really recommend

great book and great reader. Am not so much into paranormal but I was captivated by this one. I really loved the way Saskia brought out the expressions and emotions of the characters. I wish the next book is released soon and I also wish SASKIA would continue reading when the next book of the series is released

Sososososo good!!! I was so excited for this book! Luc drew my attention from his first appearance in the Lux series. A bit predictable, but it doesn’t take away from the story at all. I was nervous throughout this whole book bc i just knew there was going to be a gut-wrenching cliffhanger haha I can’t wait for The Burning Shadow!!!

This book absolutely grasped me straight from the start. This was actually my first ever audiobook and I couldn’t have wished for something better. I loved the cheeky ness of Luc and Evie’s stubbornness. Having read Jennifer’s other books also, I was really impressed with the ‘crossovers’. Can’t wait for book two!

If you liked the Lux saga, you have to read this book, and even if you didn't like it that much, you still have to read it. I love Luc with every part of my being. I feel like this is more interesting than the Lux saga. (Translated from Spanish)

Honestly, I don't know what to think of this book... Luc has always been a character I liked since his first appearances in the Lux saga, and he hasn't lost that captivating factor. He is now more mature since the book takes place years after the events of the last book in the previous saga. Evelyn is a character I didn't like; her narration didn't fully captivate me, and it was easy for me to figure out the twists at the end of the plot, which I think the story lacked. Obviously, this is book one, and it's an introduction to the world of aliens again, but when compared to the first installment of Lux, it falls very short. If compared to the previous female character, Kitten, she also pales in comparison. They tried to take Evie's character along the line of female empowerment, where they can do anything, but it doesn't work as well as it did with Kat. The narration is sometimes too slow, with scenes that don't contribute anything to the plot (I hope that somehow they are important for the next books). It often skates over the same points, and although I think it's a book you can easily finish quickly just because you want to know the characters' reactions at the end, it lacked the hook that made Lux recognized and reach many readers. In conclusion, it's a book for people who enjoyed the previous saga and allows them a little more insight into Luc. (Translated from Spanish)

I give it a five out of five, as this book has exceeded my expectations. It has undoubtedly been one of the best reads of the year. We get to know Luc, a secondary character from the Lux saga, in more depth, and many of us were left wanting to know more about him. I have deeply fallen in love with Luc, and it is something I will NEVER be able to overcome. (Translated from Spanish)

This first part of the trilogy tells us about Luc, that mysterious character I wanted to know more about. Everything happens 4 years after what occurred in Opposition, the last book of the Lux saga.

The fates of Evie and Luc intertwine when one night, Evie's best friend convinces her to go to the Prestige, a nightclub frequented by luxen. When Evie and Luc meet, she believes he is also a luxen, but Luc is much more than that, much more powerful.

Although this saga can be read without having read the Lux saga first because the author explains what is happening, it is recommended to start by reading it, as it mentions characters that have previously appeared in it.

Although I liked it a lot and enjoyed it immensely, I would have liked to know more about other characters from the Lux saga besides Luc. That’s why I don’t give it a higher rating. (Translated from Spanish)
