About this audiobook

As darkness falls on the M25, the flow of traffic comes to a halt. Time passes. More time padded. Then more. Drivers switch off their engines, then get out of their cars. And so the story begins…
In this bold, state-of-the-nation novel, Jake Wallis Simons brings together characters from all walks of life and explores what happens when lives collide on the M25.

Jam tells the story of a night spent on the M25 in a traffic jam. The cast of characters includes a man delivering shopping for Waitrose, a couple who should have been at marriage counselling, some Asian youths and some fascist thugs, amongst others. In the middle of the jam tempers start to fray.I like slice of life stories but I found the characters so unpleasant and unlikeable that I found them hard to engage with. I think I was expecting something more to come out of the whole sorry episode. Not one for me, this one.
