Beautifully written. 20 reflections on scripture that I have read many times in the past. The author opens these well-loved scriptures in a new a deeply meaningful way. Highly recommend.

This book has only 178 pages but I took my time reading it. Each chapter started out with a bible verse and the author took the verse and wrote compelling and insightful reflections on each. At the end of each chapter, he concluded them with a prayer that I will turn to them again and again. In reading the book, I came away with a deeper understanding and meaning of each verse than what I had previously thought I knew. I thought it was fitting that the author ended the book with "If only there were someone" and a verse from Job. This was particularly meaningful to me because although I have read the book of Job over and over I never got the connection that the "someone" was Jesus. This is a book that I will read over and over and I would highly recommend this book to anyone searching for more meaning in the scriptures.

From the breadth of subject matter of the anecdotes, to the depth of insight and understanding, this book of meditations on Scripture captures well the essence of Christian meditation, one which engages the rational mind. Books of meditations seldom hold my interest as they too often are trite and shallow. Wings of God is neither. Insightful, enjoyable, recommended.
