About this audiobook
Once you look at the world through Jimmy's eyes, you'll never see it the same again.
Jimmy's world is a place where a boy can grow to be a man, even if he's "special." Where angels hover, mostly unseen. Where danger can happen, and hearts can falter—but love is never wasted.
From best-selling author Robert Whitlow comes a poignant tale of innocence and courage in the tradition of Huckleberry Finn and To Kill A Mockingbird.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is a sweet story about a sweet boy and the people who love him. Very well written.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This book was a little over the top with the sugar coated goodness and got in the way of my enjoyment. I agree with alot of the other reviews in that I did not like the original ending. I felt it was rushed and was so different from the rest of the book it was like the ending to an entirely different story. The alternate ending is so much better. Being a christian myself I don't mind books based on faith, however, this book seemed a bit pushy to me. This is the first book I have read from this author so I'm not sure if all his book are like that or just this one. All in all I found it to be an okay book.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I had a goody-goody feeling during the first 80% of this book. It was developed in an almost too sweet way. And then, it took a turn. It could have been written by Jeffrey Deaver, the last 20%. I felt sick to my stomach at the turn of events and the change of genre almost. When finished I almost dumped it in the garbage. I NEVER HAVE DONE THAT TO A BOOK. Have thought about it and still don't know who I will give this copy to. The author may have developed a more consistent story line since this was written. Actually, he must be a good writer to evoke this strong an emotion in a reader.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5First book I read from Robert Whitlow(about 3 yrs ago) and for awhile I wondered where the story was going. But I then I found myself enjoying it throughly and by the end was sad I was done. Story line is wonderfully different and I have recommended it to many people. I have since read more of Robert Whitlow's books. Give this one a try, you won't be disappointed.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Plot Summary: What happens, When & Where, Central Characters, Major ConflictsThe reader first meets Jimmy as a 12 year old boy about the take the stand as a witness in a case involving a policeman who mishandled a case. His father is the lawyer for the defendant, and despite the misgivings of Jimmy's mother Jimmy's testimony helps them win the case. Jimmy has some mental limitations that make him different from other boys, but one thing he does know is how to tell the truth. We learn that Jimmy also sees what the calls "watchers", angel like figures that sometimes help him in difficult situations. And as Jimmy has plenty of those, such as learning to climb to the top of a utility pole with his grandpa, facing his fear of water, deciding whether he wants to see his birth mother, dealing with death, and starting high school. Jimmy's biggest challenge comes when he overhears a conversation that could get some people in big trouble--and that could make him a target.Style Characterisics: Pacing, clarity, structure, narrative devices, etc."Whitlow does a great job of making Jimmy come to life as a believable character. His mother and father are also well portrayed, especially the struggles they face with Jimmy's ""specialness"" and birth mother. The only characters that don't come off well are the bad guys, who don't seem to have believable motives. The watchers element is woven in very well, these angels seem real and not just stereotypes. The story moves somewhat slowly, as the plot centers around Jimmy's struggles with live as a 12-13 year old boy. The ending was upsetting, but there is an alternative ending on the authors website."How Good is it?An emotionally involving book.
