About this audiobook
Five starred reviews! In this beautifully reimagined story by NSK Neustadt Laureate and New York Times bestselling author Cynthia Leitich Smith (Muscogee Creek), Native American Lily and English Wendy embark on a high-flying journey of magic, adventure, and courage to a fairy-tale island known as Neverland…
Lily and Wendy have been best friends since they became stepsisters. But with their feuding parents planning to spend the summer apart, what will become of their family—and their friendship?
Little do they know that a mysterious boy has been watching them from the oak tree outside their window. A boy who intends to take them away from home for good, to an island of wild animals, Merfolk, Fairies, and kidnapped children, to a sea of merfolk, pirates, and a giant crocodile.
A boy who calls himself Peter Pan.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A marvelous retelling of Peter Pan focused on the experiences of Lily and Wendy. Fun, adventurous and magical with values imbedded in both subtle and obvious ways.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Good modern re-imagining of Peter Pan, but there were a number of parts that just begged for a deeper exploration.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Extremely well done retelling of Peter Pan. Three children, Wendy, Lily and Michael, are from a blended family. Wendy's father and Lily's mother (a Muskegee Creek) married and had Michael. Peter lures Wendy and Michael to Neverland and Lily manages to follow to save them. The book turns the treatment of Native Americans in the original story on its head -- any mention of Injuns is scolded -- and Peter is shown to be a braggart and domineering personality. All of this in an entertaining and nicely imagined package. Highly recommended.
