About this audiobook

Tender Branson—last surviving member of the so-called Creedish Death Cult—is dictating his life story into the flight recorder of Flight 2039, cruising on autopilot at 39,000 feet somewhere over the Pacific Ocean. He is all alone in the airplane,
which will crash shortly into the vast Australian outback. But before it does, he will unfold the tale of his journey from an obedient Creedish child and humble domestic servant to an ultra-buffed, steroid- and collagen-packed media messiah.
Unpredictable and unforgettable, Survivor is Chuck Palahniuk at his deadpan peak: a mesmerizing, unnerving, and hilarious satire on the wages of fame and the bedrock lunacy of the modern world.

The chapters are out of order. For instance the one marked as chapter 3 is chapter 44. I don’t know if this is on purpose or not.

I love the mechanisms that chuck palahniuk uses in his stories, his repeated phrases that either reinforce the tone of his characters or are used with entirely different meanings and dynamics. I love how he expresses and manifests the frustrations of man's pathetic attempt to achieve something meaningful in a society hypocritical to all we consider noble and increasingly more absurd in it's moral decay. I love the distinctiveness that most of his books have in the main character's narration. It can be a bit jarring in the beginning as you learn the structure to the story telling, but it's fantastic. I'm also a big fan of the way he destroys the self image of ourselves by humanizing the dirty and shameful realness of our unmentionable lives. Some may see it as vulgar, but here's the true working class antihero, with all of our failings and uncertainty, with no clue how to handle any of it.
I guess this isn't so much a book review as it is a testimony to the book's quality, that'll have to do...

An excellent book. Very disturbing. The author definitely brings his characters to life it makes you feel everything they feel. I want to read more of the back list.

This book gave me a terrible nose bleed that soaked into my carpet. Good thing I know how to clean that out
