About this audiobook

Pretty Little Liars meets Burn for Burn in this thrilling debut from Wattpad star Ann Valett.

Chloe Whittaker is out for revenge.

Last year her best friend Monica’s life was unceremoniously ruined by the most popular students at their high school, so this year Chloe plans to take each and every one of them down. She’s traded in her jeans and T-shirts for the latest designer clothes, erased anything on social media that would tie her to Monica (and blow her cover), and carefully figured out how she will befriend the members of the clique, find out their deepest and darkest secrets, and reveal them to the world.

Chloe has the perfect plan . . . but there’s one thing she didn’t prepare for. And that’s falling for someone she’s determined to destroy. The closer she gets to uncovering the secrets the in-crowd is determined to cover up, the more she realizes that she is going to have to choose between betraying her oldest friend or the boy who’s captured her heart

What a stiff book and stiff narration. I fell asleep a couple of times.

I’ve read this on Wattpad years ago and absolutely loved it, now listening to it, reading it for the second time, I’ve realized it’s got some problematic scenes. still enjoyed it. .

Hated the narrator, I think the story would have been better enjoyed with a different , more natural sounding narrator. Sounded like a robot !

The story overall I felt was a bit dragged and unnecessarily exaggerated at times. The ending felt rushed though I will note it was the only thing I didn’t find predictable, unlike the rest of the story.

    2 / 5 - gossip girl meets mean girls

Chloe has remade herself. She’s also going to become popular this semester to take down the popular clique , no matter what. After what they did to her best friend, can you blame her?

We see the story unfold through Chloe present day and letters to her best friend Monica. Firstly starting out with blackmail, we’re introduced to Will- q way into the popular group. Slowly we see how she’s trying to fit in, play games and try to become one of them.

school / college genre is a guilty pleasure. Mean girls, Sydney White, House Bunny - all of that stuff - however what this lacked was development and substance. You didn’t really feel the friendship, relationships or motive. It was an easy YA to follow but could have been a lot more.
