Indigo Wolf is the daughter of a white woman and a part Comanche man (see Comanche Moon for their story). Jake Rand comes to town, a wealthy businessman disguised as a mine foreman, to investigate the mining mishaps that he thinks were caused by his father. He's fascinated by Indigo, who's a wild spirit to his city-slicker self.
I learned a lot about mining which seems to be a trademark of Ms. Anderson's books (not specifically mining but she adds in a lot of historical detail which I appreciate and like). The story is good with lots of drama and romance.
