- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I love Juliet Marillier - this is my go to Christmas present request if a new book is out. And this was Christmas 2020 present. As usual I thoroughly enjoyed it but it won't be a favourite of mine. The plot was slightly lacking and the bad guy never really felt real to me. But I'd read a cereal packet written by Ms Marillier so it was still very good.
