About this audiobook
Gossie and Gertie are best friends. Both wear brightly colored boots. Gertie is never far from Gossie's heels, until one day when she decides to go her own way. What will Gossie do without her "shadow"? Olivier Dunrea often writes about the farm animals that surrounded him when he was growing up, including these two adorable goslings. This story of friendship, leadership and independence complements its predecessor Gossie.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Gossie is a happy and active gosling who wears her favorite red rubber boots every day, until the day she wakes up to discover that her boots are missing. Olivier Dunrea's brightly-colored illustrations depict an actively curious Gossie, who is always investigating different creatures and situations. And for a creature whose facial expression is limited to an opening and closing her beak, Dunrea endows his gosling with emotion through raised wings and jaunty steps. Gossie’s generous reaction to another gosling borrowing her boots serves as a good example to children that shared tastes can lead to good friends. While the board book version of this story may not be large enough for story time, the highly sympathetic Gossie would be a great tool for discussions about sharing. This book is recommended for both public and school libraries.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Very cute story about a little gosling who LOVES her red boots. And then one day they disappear and she looks everywhere for them - which is cute. My two year old enjoys the hunt for her red boots. However, I think the end is a confusing to little ones because Gossie and Gertie look way too much alike - but that's my only complaint.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Gossie wears her bright red boots every day - so what happens when they are missing? A cute story, with darling illustrations, and simple text that is perfect for the little ones. It has a nice moral lesson to it, and her search for her boots is a great way to teach prepositions (behind, under, over, in ...) when Aubrey's a little older. We both really like this story.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I loved this. Simple words and illustrations, a little bot of detail to talk about on each page, soothing repetition, and a hilarious ending.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The book is about 2 ducks who are best friends. They follow each other everywhere. They don't always agree, but in the end they are still best friends.Good story to show how friendship works.A teacher could use this story in the classroom as a lesson on being friends.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Very cute and simple, both in pictures and text. Charming is the best word for the series.Dunrea has a real gift at drawing emotions on geese. Even a very little child (and these books are just the right pace for babies and toddlers) can figure out what the geese are feeling by looking at the pictures. And they're realistic, too. I can see an actual child bossing their friend like Gossie - and having a tantrum just like her too.
