About this audiobook
Shanks's post-apocalyptic novel is a pessimistic satire on Wellsian techno-utopian novels.--Trapped in a London laboratory in 1924, ex-artillery officer and physics instructor Jeremy Tuft awakens 150 years later, in a neo-medieval society where they have forgotten how to build or operate machinery, nor do they care to re-learn it. Tuft decides that post-civilized life is simpler, and peaceful. But when English and Welsh tribes threaten London, he starts reinventing weapons of mass destruction.
