For the first time I’ve learnt about the ideas that have influenced George Soros with his high finance political activism and so-called philanthropy. I will now read about Karl Popper and his book "Open Society and its Enemies". Soros, whose main interest was philosophy and who - we learn from Horowitz - aimed to write a major work entitled "The Burden of Consciousness" we also learn was a pupil of Popper at the London School of Economics in the 1950s. Another audiobook on this platform by David Horowitz is "Dark Agenda: The War to Destroy Christian America". In this semi-autobiographical book we learn of the slow journey of Horowitz from a radical leftist working with the Black Panthers and suchlike in the 1960s, to a radical conservative intellectual by the end of the 20th century. So what happens when a person through lived experience becomes disillusioned with the ideology behind Marxism-Leninism and later the New Left i.e. neo-Marxism? What values and ideology can replace the vacuum when this happens? Horowitz has clearly rejected the atheism and hatred of religion (particularly Christianity) implicit in Marxism, and embraced the theism of the founding fathers of the US Constitution. It is also interesting that Vladimir Putin has gone in this direction following the failure and Marxism-Leninism in the former Soviet Union, and now he embraces the Russian Orthodox Church as the glue that holds together the Russian culture and family values. What we learn also is that George Soros, by his own admission, is an atheist. Thus his Open Society Institutes in 150 countries around the world are there to oppose Christianity, and all other religions as taking a dominant role in government. Thus Soros supports the creation of an 100% secular, multicultural democratic society. He is against all tribalism and religion determining man-made laws. Soros is a Jew (whatever that means) yet he does not appear to be a Zionist. This book by Horowitz is an excellent educational work that should be compulsory reading as an antidote to the pervasive neo-Marxist / counter-cultural propaganda implicit in modern day leftist movements, such as Critical Race Theory, Queer Theory, so on and so forth. David Horowitz can rest his case on this fact: the Democrat president of the United States of America declared the Christian commemorative day, March 31st 2024, Easter Sunday as "Transgender Day of Visibility".
