Weaving in her personal story, which ushered her from a roach-infested low-income apartment to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, she demonstrates how she overcame her setbacks and challenges despite the cultural expectation that she should embrace a victim mentality.

This is a great book. Candace Owens gets a lot of criticism for her views by the mainstream media but I think that that criticism is largely from people who don’t know what she preaches and just know that they’re supposed to hate her. This book’s thesis is simple: people shouldn’t feel like they’re victims, instead, Americans need to take their futures into their own hands and become victors, because the only person that can make you succeed is you, you have control over yourself and there’s no point in blaming someone else. I love this book and it took me less than a week to finish. It is enrapturing from page one. I think that this book holds an important message, one that applies equally to black America and to any American no matter their creed or color.
