So far, that list includes kindergartens, hospitals, train stations, apartment blocks, dormitories, neighborhoods, rural townships, public squares and, at last count, one major university. If this is what ‘Russian liberation’ looks like, I’ll take slavery.”

      These emails and essays should be required reading for anyone who wants to better understand the war in Ukraine. Illya and Mark humanize the experience so anyone can understand what war feels like.
