- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A fantastic series, once I started I honestly didn't stop until I reached the end. A fantastic series and I highly recommend it!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Loved this series! And loved the character growth in the final book!
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5What an insufferable slog! As the series progressed, the MC--and most of the characters--became ever more immature, snippy, and stupid. The writing is like a bad sitcom, desperately trying to make the audience laugh every 20 seconds...even when the mood of the scene is entirely inappropriate.
We're constantly told that Emma is the most selflessness, kind little ball of fluff to ever poof...but then we're SHOWN how shallow and childish she is with her constant inner dialogue of disgust and judgemental tangents. I especially grew tired of the constant references to old women and Emma's obsession with their ugliness. Then almost all the main villains end up being...older women.
I would ask if this was written by some media-brained teenager, but I'm thinking that would be an insult to teenagers.
