Lady Alice Chivers is done being controlled by her family. On the run from an arranged marriage, she needs a strong Highlander to escape. Only Philip MacGregor insists on sending her back to her pampered life, so she’ll just have to blackmail him instead. But now they find themselves in an accidental marriage, and soon they’re both playing a role that feels like it was meant to be real.

Philip is cautious, in control, and in way over his head with his unexpected wife. She’s intense, spontaneous, and can’t follow an order to save her life. I enjoyed the beginning very much it was funny and they both made me laugh, but then it went on and on for to long, them arguing till the very end. I much preferred the previous 2 especially book 2.
The narrator was very good but a bit stilted and slow at times. I would have liked to speed it up to about 1.25 or 1.30 but the next speed is 1.50 which is too fast then.

With the book I did have a little problem due to the fact the the main character Alice was just to dame selfish ? . She only thought about herself. Almost up to the end when she had a revelation. Big woop because of her total selfish attitude innocent people died and got hurt and she just felt bad dang. For son reason I wanted her to lose a leg or something. But that's my opinion. Everything thing else about this book was ok. Sorry
