This is definitely a dark dark suspense romance….so beware! That said, it was well written and the narration great! The characters were interesting and the story was well well written and engaging! I will admit that I did have to take a break from it now and then as it was full of sexual violence, sex slavery, and nasty characters! But there was a HEA….so it was worth it!

Let me start by saying that the author was up front about the brutal aspects of the story and I decided to read it anyway based on the blurb. The author can definitely write and built a violent world for women.

The story starts with our h being kidnapped from a mall at the age of 16 and then initially conditioned until she was 18 by the first captor that did everything but take her virginity. That was kept for the H and the sex slave business he worked for.

The H then raped her although it was not explained that way as the H was conditioned to accept anything being done to her. She, of course, has feelings for the brooding man whose job is to condition her for many other people to use he, which he does.

I am not sure how this is considered a romance as the initial meeting was while the H was raping the h. Maybe the last 20 minutes of the story is the romance.
