This is truly the beginning: you can relate to every card and start to put intuition in it. It certainly helped me understanding the deeper meaning of the pictures on the cards. However, if you need to know more about linking the cards or to understand deeper meanings, you need to read more, experience more. This book is a good start.

Somewhat informative in some areas but then they breeze past in others.

Very informative! My first book on this topic. I will be able to do a more in-depth review after reading a few other books. This is the beginning of my research and education on the topic.

Very easy to follow and awesome for those who are either starting out or curious and want to know more. My favorite part is the interpretations associated with the cards and I'll be adding some of them to my arsenal for my readings!

The book really is useful for beginners or those looking for a simple refresher. But the author has a tendency to give one card or one suit entirely too much attention compared to the others. She went very in depth with the suit if cups and even there reversed meanings but left out reversed for all of the other suits. There is also a bit of a dated perspective of gender roles in the major arcana section. Such as when she said if the high priestess appears in a man's spread that it's qualities the man wants in a woman or if it appears in a woman's spread that those are qualities she wants to embody. This doesn't account for gay people or people who don't abide by typical gender roles and such. Again the book is still good, a bit simple and scattered, but an effective primer for anyone wanting to start the tarot card journey.
