About this audiobook

Challenge your assumptions about witchcraft, Paganism, and spiritual seeking and learn how to craft your own magical path with this timely and entertaining exploration of what it means to practice witchcraft from the host of the Inciting A Riot podcast.

If you’ve ever wanted to burn your ex’s old stuff in a trash can while drinking wine with your friends and reading tarot cards under the light of the full moon, you already know that magic is an essential part of our human existence. But what is magic, anyway? And are witches real? Where do I start if I want to build a deeper, more personal magical practice? (I mean…can I just make sh*t up?)

Perfect for anyone who has wanted to get a little witchy but not known where to start, The Dabblers Guide to Witchcraft provides everything you need to discover more about modern witchcraft while forging your own magical path in a responsible and informed way. Fire Lyte takes us on a thoughtful, compulsively readable, and provocative journey, addressing topics such as:
-Pop culture and witchcraft
-The intersection of science and spirituality
-Gatekeeping and inclusivity in the magical community
-“Good” vs “bad” magic (spoiler alert: there’s no such thing!)
-Why a coffee pot or Dutch oven is just as effective as a cauldron

He also provides eleven spell canvasses, perfect for beginners and practicing witches alike to expand their spell-casting repertoire.

Whether you’re just starting on your spiritual journey or recent events have inspired you to reexamine your current magical path, this humorous, practical, and insightful book provides a roadmap for anyone curious about enriching their practice.

Loved it! This book brings to light some of the more challenging topics for both beginners and seasoned "dabblers" alike. Definitely worth a read. The suggested spells towards the end of the book is part diy craft, part science experiment and wholly magickal!

Has 2/29 chapters that have anything 2 actually 2 in regards 2 spells/physical work for witchy things. This is simply a overworded guide on how to study the craft. Hardly any facts. Didn't disclose this till I was 10 chapters in. I felt mislead & wouldn't recommend this book 4 that reason. I don't like feelin tricked/mis-advertised

This is a great resource for the modern practitioner who is beyond the intro books. A great guide for realistic modern views and practices. An absolute joy to listen to the author tell his story and experiences.

By far my favorite beginner book. This is the intro book I wanted when I started poking my way into witchcraft over a decade ago.

i kinda regret that this is my first witchy book cause it's so good and now my standards for the next books are very high. i totally love this audiobook and i love its podcast and casual style. i think because the author is the one narrating, they know how to give the right tone and emphasis to the topics they're discussing. the delivery of punchlines and hot takes is always 10/10. this book is filled with references and comparison of the craft to mundane field and topics and it's done perfectly. the research is rich and nuanced instead of simply jumping into conclusions or telling you this is simply the way things are and this is how to follow it. it discusses a lot about inclusivity, ethics, cultural appropriation, and how to rule the mundane before the magick.

I loved Fire Lyte's practical and humorous approach to witchcraft and magic! Having been a witch for over 20 years, and now a leader and teacher in my community, I am constantly looking for beginner material to recommend. The Dabbler's Guide is one that I can recommend without reservation! An absolute must read for any new to the craft and a fun refresher for those with some years behind them.

I wish I’d found this when I started dabbling. Would have saved me so much time. But this is still a good listen if you’ve been at it for a while.

The author has a great, realist viewpoint with matching advice attached.

This was a genuine pleasure to listen to and would definitely suggest it to a friend.

I liked it. Thought it was great that the author narrated. It didn't have a ton of stuff on working magic but seem to give what the title indicates. Dabbling.

It was conversational and he was engaging. Thought his narrative throughout about appropriation, and being respectful of what you do not understand was great.

    Overall, I enjoyed it.
