Before his congregation at the Metropolitan Tabernacle he said to himself, “My soul, never be satisfied within a shadowy Christ.” He points to Philippians 3:10, where Paul says he gave up everything “That I may know [Christ]”; Spurgeon urges all who listen to do likewise.

    Charles H.
