Reviews for Jurassic Park

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Gorgeous story line, a total classic. However, it’s spoiled by the whining and idiotic behavior of some of the characters. Thank goodness this was mitigated in the movie
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5call me twenty one pilots because now i'm stressed out
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5If you like the film, you will love the book. So much fun and full of thrills! Highly recommend!
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/52.5 stars rounded down due to a severe lack of editing. The story of the island and the scientific research that lead to Jurassic park was compelling. From that stand point the book is easily 3.5-4 stars. The character development, however, was another thing I found to be severely lacking; there’s a large cast which further accentuated this - there’s no one the reader truly cares about. Also, the way the children are written detracts from the story significantly - perhaps they were who the reader is supposed root for, however, after having read thousands of books, lex is single handedly the most irritating and poorly written child I’ve ever encountered.
Also, in relation to editing, particularly in an audiobook, referring to every 6th character or so by first and last names for no reason other than inconsistency was infuriating - though the element that truly put my teeth on edge was the way nearly every conversation was read as a script (accentuated by the narrator) Lex SAID, Malcom SAID, Ellie SAID - 1/400xs was said replaced with asked/whispered/replied -?!? - middle schoolers could’ve done a better job with that - HOW DID THAT MAKE IT PAST EDITING?!? - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wonderful novel !! I'd read it without tiring myself, just amazing
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Soooo much better than the movie....and I love the movie!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I have always loved this book and being able to listen to it while I was busy with something else was an experience I will definitely repeat! Well done to the narrator!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Better than the movie. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone looking for action and suspense. It had me on the edge of my seat and wanting more. 10/10 would definitely recommend.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5After loving the movies since I was a kid I felt the need to “read” the book. Another case of the book being better then the movie but both are great in their own rights. This is a must read for any fan.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5as usual, absolutely fantastic.
compelling and nuanced.
10/10 highly recommended - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great book, really gets the gears turning in the old noggin
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Wonderful story!! Adventure, science, human and animal nature, even philosophy.
Thoroughly enjoyable journey, this book was. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Wonderful performance by Scott Brick. The material itself is much richer and deeper than the movie, but is not flawless. The character of Lex Murphy is terribly written.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This was my second time through - thought I'd leave a review.
Should you read it?
Yah bud it's Jurassic Park. Watch out for the baby T-Rex though - that's Gruesome. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Listening to it again at 36 was just as enthralling as it was reading it when I was 13
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Loved every minute. Kept me company during walks. Will listen to again
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A wonderful story! I’ll forever love the movie, but my lord if they would’ve put all this into a movie, it would’ve been better!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This was great! The characters are so much more lifelike then in the movie. Flow and back drop is fenomonal and the concern, the tension, alot nore present. It is a good read and I do recommend it
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Amazing writing, great pacing, intense, and felt like the movie but expanded. The guy reading was excellent. One of the best audio books I've listened to!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Crighton's best one, in my opinion. Has so much more to it than all the movies.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Oh yes, totally excellent!! You cannot get much better than this!! A real classic and a profound warning to our human arrogance. Heed well!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I love this book. It does a great job referring to it’s self. The way that he explains everything is wonderful and easy to understand. An interesting and exciting book that I hope you read.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5From one who grew up mesmerized by the films, I am so glad I read the novel. As it is said over and again, “The book is way better!” I recommend you read it! I loved the imagery and all the complex thought processes and dialogue (internal and external.) Witnessing their deaths from their point of view was chilling!!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wonderful, really loved it. Couldn't stop listening. Now I need need watch the movie again!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Totally dragged in places, but I enjoyed the depth of research and thought that went into the text. Did not like the endless body count.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5As usual, the novel far surpasses the movie. Top drawer.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Killer almost better than the movie not sure if I should say tht haha
