I'm determined to read all of the books in the kid's section at work. Geronimo Stilton is a cute book. It's quick to read. In 'Lose Treasure of the Emerald Eye', Geronimo goes with his sister Thea and cousin Trap to find the emerald eye. They lose their boat and get stranded on an island. After having an adventure on the island, they realize that it's actually a resort island. As they are flying home, Geronimo looks down out the window and sees that the island looks like an emerald eye.I honestly think kids may get bored with the way the book it written. There are some words that go along with the action they are saying. For example, if the phone rings, there may be 'ring ring ring' on the page in big, squiggly letters. But, overall it's cute.

Geronimo Stilton is a journalist mouse who goes on many adventures with a rotating cast of stock characters. In this easy chapter book, Stilton goes searching for a lost treasure on a far-flung island and is shipwrecked with his three companions. The text of the story is interspersed with a variety of fonts and colours to emphasize certain phrases, and cheese-related jokes abound throughout. I found the changing fonts and cheese puns to be wearing, but a younger reader may find them hilarious while also providing time to rest their hard-working reading eyes.

I find that my students along with myself find these books very funny and creative. The use of different fonts, texts and pictures really add to the mix especially with students who say they get "bored" reading.

This first book in the Geronimo Stilton series will capture children's attention with its fast paced action and great humour. Readers will enjoy the fun illustrations and zany text which is often in fonts to match the mood of the words and is spread all over the pages. The simple humour will appeal to young readers, as will Geronimo's wild adventures.

I liked when Trap's pants got stuck on a root, and I liked when Geronimo yelled at Trap and his sister, Thea. This was my first Stilton book, and I plan to read more.

I purchased this book in triplicate with the express purpose of having my two children, aged 6 & 8, read to me instead of me reading to them. The three copies to make reading together easy!Having both a son and a daughter has made it hard to find books that immediately appeal to both of them and cause them to want to read further on their own. This series of books has accomplished that task! This is the first of a series of 'detective' books about a slightly neurotic mouse, his sister, and other supporting mice. What I like most about these books is that they are colourful, simplistic story line, fairly good language with hardly any slang contractions (ex. 'pose instead of suppose), and I myself am actually interested in the story. There is nothing worse than listening to your child read to you and trying to suppress the snores! So if your goals are like mine, excellent book. If your more of my children's age, I'm going to guess you'll like the book too!

It all started when Geronimo's sister, Thea, discovered an old mysterious map. It showed a secret treasure hidden on a faraway island. In no time at all Thea dragged Geronimo and his cousin Trap, into her treasure hunt. I liked it alot, it was very, very funny especially at the end when they figured out what the map was really for!
