About this audiobook
Gary Corby
Gary Corby has long been fascinated by ancient history, finding it more exciting and bizarre than any modern thriller. He's combined the ancient world with his love of whodunits, to create an historical mystery series set in classical Greece. Gary lives in Sydney, Australia, with his wife and two daughters. He blogs at A Dead Man Fell from the Sky, on all things ancient, Athenian, and mysterious.

Reviews for The Marathon Conspiracy

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Escaping their wedding preparations, Nicolaos and Diotima investigate the death of a schoolgirl and the disappearance of another girl at the Temple of Artemis at Brauron. The Temple serves as a finishing school for the best families in Athens. The two girls had discovered a skeleton and thirty-year old scrolls in a nearby cave shortly before their death/disappearance. Nicolaos and Diotima must figure out the connection, if any, between the thirty-year old skeleton and the modern mystery.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Another good one, although not as many weird Athenian customs.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Another enjoyable light and frothy mystery set in ancient Periclean Greece. This time out, from a young ladies' academy at a temple complex one girl is killed, another has disappeared; later on the fiancé of one of them is found dead in a Sacred Pool on the premises. An unsolved conspiracy of 30 years before involving Hippias, Tyrant of Athens and the Battle of Marathon is involved: who participated, how and why? Partners Nico and ex-priestess Diotima aided by Nico's pesky brother Socrates, set out to solve these mysteries and answer any questions. Delightful!! I like so much how Corby painlessly works in Greek history. Supplementary material at the end is most valuable, only *don't* read until you've read the novel first. Corby treats us to his gentle humor.
